QH Houghto-Quench® C 105
Quaker Houghton HOUGHTO-QUENCH® C 105 is a normal speed quenching oil suitable for use at temperatures of up to 80°C. HOUGHTO-QUENCH C 105 does not contain additives which react with cyanide, and is, therefore, suitable for use in conjunction with cyanide containing salt baths.
Applications
HOUGHTO-QUENCH® C 105 is designed for both general purpose and salt bath quenching applications and is suitable for use in open quench tanks, sealed quench furnaces and continuous furnaces of the shaker hearth, cast link and mesh belt type.
HOUGHTO-QUENCH C 105 is formulated to provide maximum economy in use, has uniform quenching characteristics and is suitable for use where normal speed quenching characteristics are required.

QH Houghto-Quench® C 1643
Quaker Houghton HOUGHTO-QUENCH® C 1643 is a high performance quenching oil with extremely low volatilization rate. It is based upon specially selected solvent refined base oil to minimise oxidation and ensure consistent performance under the most arduous of operating conditions. A carefully formulated additive package is incorporated into HOUGHTO-QUENCH C 1643 to reduce the duration of the vapour blanket cooling stage and provide accelerated quenching characteristics, together with excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability. HOUGHTO-QUENCH C 1643 has a low density and a specially selected additive package that makes the oil splitting very quickly from the aqueous washing machine bath. This increases the life time of the cleaning bath.
Applications
HOUGHTO-QUENCH® C 1643 is suitable for use in all types of quenching installation including open quench tanks, sealed quench furnaces and continuous furnaces of the shaker hearth, cast link and mesh belt type.
The accelerated quenching characteristics and extremely low volatilization rate provided by HOUGHTO-QUENCH C 1643 enables the quenching of relatively tight packed batches in closed systems up to 100°C. In open systems HOUGHTO-QUENCH C 1643 can be used between 30 – 70°C.
Recommendation For Use
Circulation of HOUGHTO-QUENCH® C 1643 during quenching is recommended in order to disperse the vapour blanket, to ensure that hot oil at the surface of the component is replaced by cold oil, and to maintain uniform oil temperature throughout the tank.

Quaker Houghton HOUGHTO-QUENCH® C 164 is a high performance accelerated quenching oil suitable at temperatures of up to 100°C.
It is based upon specially selected solvent refined base oils to minimise oxidation and ensure consistent performance under the most arduous of operating conditions. A carefully formulated additive package is incorporated into HOUGHTO-QUENCH C 164 to reduce the duration of the vapour blanket cooling stage and provide accelerated quenching characteristics, together with excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability.
Applications
The accelerated speed provided by HOUGHTO QUENCH® C 164 enables the development of optimum strength and hardness with minimum distortion in lower hardenability and low alloy steels, heavy sectioned components or steels of borderline hardenability.
HOUGHTO-QUENCH C 164 is suitable for use in all types of quenching installations including open quench tanks, sealed quench furnaces and continuous furnaces of the shaker hearth, cast link and mesh belt type.
